Displays are the visible half of a pipeline. Without a converter placed correctly, you will not get the friendly numeric behavior creators demo in videos. Think “digit + brain,” not “digit alone.”

Place the converter one stud behind the display so the pair mates cleanly. When the seven-segment converter activates, the digit often defaults to showing zero — a quick health check that the link works.

Converters are not optional decoration. They interpret incoming signal patterns so the segments light in human-readable ways. Some converter behavior can sum weighted inputs (classic 1+2+4 style patterns toward a digit) — experiment on a scrap board before embedding units inside a mansion wall.

Leave a service alley behind the sign facade. Future-you will thank present-you when a converter needs swapping after a redesign.

Several display units include a small hatch / service area (commonly described toward the bottom-left of the unit) with a control that cycles colors. Use it for shop branding, sale highlights, or matching faction colors on a roleplay plot.

Color is cosmetic; wiring is structural. Get digits stable in a default color first, then paint. Visitors should read the number before they admire the hue.
